Condition Surveys

We offer a wide range of services to pleasure and commercial craft owners, not only in Scotland but throughout the UK and overseas. Our survey instructions over the years have taken us from the USA to the Mediterranean.

Our extensive knowledge of the various construction materials gained from 35 years involvement with vessels constructed of steel, alloy, fibre reinforced plastics (frp) and timber, all supported by our ongoing structural and design programmes is unparalleled in Scotland, and enables us to produce thorough and fully detailed reports.

We also advise on the purchase of new vessels, regardless of type, size, or condition, and will always gladly share our professional expertise with the client in first hand discussion when required.

All levels of survey can be provided on virtually any type of vessel to about 35 metres in length, from detailed prior to purchase examinations, insurance reports for sight of underwriters or more superficial valuation inspections.
We are also able to provide:

  • Tonnage measurements for yacht registration

  • Code of Practice surveys and compliance examinations under all MCA codes

  • Stability assessment

  • Preparation of fleet and commercial vessel maintenance schedules
